Learning to Belong represents the quieter challenge that begins after rebuilding: understanding how to live within a new place without erasing the person who arrived.
Modelling paste and pigment are applied with a palette knife to form overlapping rectangular sections. Combed and scraped marks give each area its own direction, while metallic glazes allow silver, copper, rose, blue and gold to appear and disappear as the light changes.
The structured surface resembles a new city with unfamiliar streets, buildings, routines and rules slowly forming a rhythm. Traces of red remain visible beneath the metallic layers, symbolising the original self that survives every adaptation. Belonging does not mean becoming invisible; it means discovering where our differences can exist within the whole.

Aprender a pertenecer representa el desafío más silencioso que comienza después de reconstruirnos: comprender cómo vivir dentro de un lugar nuevo sin borrar a la persona que llegó.
La pasta de modelado y el pigmento se aplican con espátula para formar secciones rectangulares superpuestas. Las marcas peinadas y raspadas dan una dirección diferente a cada espacio, mientras las veladuras metalizadas permiten que el plateado, el cobre, el rosa, el azul y el dorado aparezcan y desaparezcan a medida que cambia la luz.
La superficie estructurada recuerda una ciudad nueva, con calles, edificios, rutinas y reglas desconocidas que lentamente comienzan a formar un ritmo. Algunos rastros de rojo permanecen visibles debajo de las capas metálicas, simbolizando el yo original que sobrevive a cada adaptación. Pertenecer no significa volvernos invisibles; significa descubrir dónde pueden existir nuestras diferencias dentro del conjunto.
